SlayGo Size & Fit Guide

Find Your Fit. Then SlayGo.

Still thinking a shifting hairline, shedding hairline, extra scalp flakes, tightness, or heat are all “just because of the wig”? Think again. If your wig feels too tight, too hot, or uncomfortable, the real issue may be simple: you picked the wrong size.

A good wig should not feel like pressure. It should feel secure, breathable, natural, and easy enough to wear on your real schedule.

Why Fit Matters

The right cap size does more than make your wig look better. It helps your lace lay flatter, keeps your unit from sliding, reduces scalp pressure, and makes your install feel more effortless from morning to night.

If your wig is too small

It can press into your forehead, temples, ears, and nape. That tight feeling may lead to headaches, scalp irritation, itching, heat buildup, and tension around your edges.

If your wig is too big

The cap may lift, bunch, slide back, or leave extra space at the crown and nape. Your lace may not melt as naturally because the foundation is not sitting close enough to your head.

Start With Your Measurements

Before choosing a lace size or style, measure your head the same way you plan to wear your hair under the wig. Braid your hair down, flatten it, or put on your wig cap first if that is part of your normal routine.

Step 01

Circumference

Wrap a soft measuring tape around your head, starting at the front hairline, going behind the ears, around the nape, and back to the front.

Step 02

Front to Nape

Measure from the center of your front hairline, over the top of your head, down to the nape of your neck.

Step 03

Ear to Ear

Measure from the top of one ear, across the top of your head, to the top of the other ear. This helps with lace placement and side comfort.

Fit tip

Keep the tape flat against your head, but do not pull it tight. If you are between sizes, think about your hair density, wig cap, grip band, and whether your scalp is sensitive.

Signs Your Wig Size Is Off

If any of these sound familiar, your wig may not be the right fit for your head shape or your everyday wear routine.

  • Your forehead or temples have deep marks after wearing your wig.
  • Your lace lifts even when the wig is positioned correctly.
  • Your ears feel pressed or sore after a short time.
  • The back of the wig rides up at the nape.
  • The crown feels hollow, loose, or bulky.
  • You need too much glue, spray, clips, or a headband just to feel secure.
  • You feel scalp tension instead of a smooth, comfortable hold.

Comfort Is the Goal

A secure wig should not feel painfully tight. It should sit close, stay in place, and still let your scalp breathe. When the fit is right, your lace lays better, your hairline looks softer, and your whole look feels more natural.

A good fit feels like

  • Secure without squeezing
  • Flat at the hairline
  • Comfortable around the ears
  • Smooth at the crown and nape
  • Easy to wear without over-adjusting

Protect your scalp

Give your scalp breaks, avoid wearing any unit too tight, keep your wig cap clean, and remove your wig before bed when possible. If you notice ongoing pain, irritation, or unusual hair loss, pause wear and check in with a licensed professional.
